Welcome — I'm glad you're here.
I'm Dr. B. Steven Willis, and I provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychological care in the heart of Arlington. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, or a season of transition — you don't have to walk it alone.
My Approach
Therapy is most effective when it's tailored to the whole person — not just the symptoms. Here's what working with me looks like.
Your experiences, values, and goals shape our work together. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment — your plan is as unique as you are.
I draw from CBT, psychodynamic, and integrative modalities — selecting approaches supported by research and suited to your specific concerns.
I create a space that feels both safe and honest. You'll be heard, challenged gently, and never judged — because real change requires both.
Services
I work with individuals and couples across a range of concerns. If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free introductory call.
A confidential, collaborative space to explore anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and the patterns that may be holding you back.
Build deeper understanding, improve communication, and navigate conflict with guidance — whether you're repairing or strengthening your relationship.
For high-achievers and caregivers carrying too much: develop sustainable strategies for managing stress, setting boundaries, and reclaiming energy.
Graduation, career change, loss, relocation — major shifts can upend even the most grounded among us. Let's navigate them with intention.
About
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology and have spent over fifteen years helping individuals and couples find clarity, resilience, and lasting change. My practice is rooted in the belief that therapy should be a collaborative partnership — not a lecture.
Based in Arlington since 2011, I maintain a small, intentional caseload so every client receives the time and attention they deserve. I work with adults and couples, drawing on an integrative approach that honors both science and humanity.
Kind Words
These reflections are shared with permission. Names have been changed to protect privacy.
Dr. Willis helped me see patterns I'd been blind to for years. His warmth and directness created a space where I finally felt safe enough to do the real work.
My partner and I were on the verge of separating. Couples counseling with Dr. Willis gave us the tools to listen again — and to remember why we chose each other.
I came in burnt out and skeptical. Within weeks, I had strategies I actually used. Six months later, I feel like myself again — maybe even better.
